The Shift Change

When I hear the word "obey", this scene comes to mind

My first attempt at film scoring was the 1926 silent sci-fi classic, "Metropolis"

Here is the opening sequence and a scene called “The Shift Change.”

This scene portrays drudgery and the grim reality of the workers who keep the city running.

This sequence shows the reality of conformity taken to the extreme. Whenever someone says, “obey,” this scene comes to mind.

I tried to capture both the intense conformity required of them and the wail of despair.
