I recently posted this on Notes:
We are both weakened and strengthened by our thoughts. So it makes sense to guard them, privately and publicly.
We can aim them high or low.
Surely, aiming high can lead us to our Ideal.
I realized after posting it that the word “Ideal” is more than a little vague. So some explanation is in order.
I’ve observed that everyone’s actions are aimed at some kind of end goal. We act in order to get to that goal, whether it be grand or trivial. We get up in the morning to start our day. We eat to stay alive. We pursue money to afford our lifestyle.
It seems to me that there is a hierarchy of goals or ends, with something as the final one. This is our Ideal. Something that is pursued for its own sake and not a step towards something else. It is supreme, which is why I capitalize it.
I don’t try to define it beyond this as it may be unique for each person. I think it can be described as “fulfillment”, which I think of as wanting for nothing. Being completely fulfilled is to no longer seek it. This is our Ideal.
How each person defines their Ideal is personal. But surely it is at the top of the list, hence my statement above: Surely, aiming high can lead us to our Ideal.
I don’t have paid subscriptions. So I use small commissions from linked products to earn a bit of extra retirement income.
Today’s link is a book of Plant-based recipes. Most plant-based cookbooks out there make things way too complicated. They call for expensive blenders, hard-to-find ingredients, or meal prep plans that require half your weekend. This isn’t one of those. Check it out here.

Enjoyable read
Thanks for the cookbook link - lots going on with that business and I opted for the basic cookbook and two bonuses. I passed on all the rest of the fabulous offers.
